Abstract

ABSTRACT Besides giving the positive, the globalization is also giving a negativeeffect. comes up with the new problem to the country. To over come thisproblem, the action of Indonesian women is needed, included the Balinese women. Any kinds of imprison tradition, the power of the then havethedeviation in following the action which toward the patriarchy system, which mustbe got correction and revision. Now days Balinese transitionperiod, they seldom in the strategy position, it is because they don't have anyin stating the general the women don't participate in the localvillage community meeting. In relation to this background it is needed to do the research with theformula as follows: 1. How and why the Balinese empowering women are needed? 2. What and how is the model wise for the Balinese empowering women? The method which is used to expose this problem is qualitative, the results ofthis research shows that: 1. The empowering of Balinese women can't get off from the changing inthis globalization period. In one side Balinese women inclined to adaptthe modern cosmopolitan culture but in other side it is also in process ofparochialism. It comes up cause of the transition to local side, especiallyto the village culture. In other word, the Balinese women in adapting themodern culture are still applying the local tradition value of culturesystem. Balinese people don't differentiate between women and men, theonly different is their function. The Balinese prestiptive law in family andheritage are really driven out of course. It only emphasize heritage to themen, and it must be remember even though the women don't have theheritage, they also didn't be claimed to do the obligation cause of theheritage. When the equality principal be translated in Bahasa as equality(not must be the same) 2. It has been changing between the Balinese women perceptions andconception about their self concept.Along this they don't do theexpressive attractive movement. The changing of culture and attitude hasbeen done evolutionary which is adaptive to the global influence. Thatchanging didn't change the culture system which they hold and act, thechanging happened on their attitude with natural movement. 3. The result of this research is producing a model of women's empowermentpolicy which base on local wisdom, bottom up, democrat participationand will influence to all stakcholders. With this model the ability will bemore adaptive, flexible and acceptable by the Balinese community in orderthat empowering more effective.
